Many families in the Greater Houston area, even those who live comfortable lives, are just one emergency expense away from falling behind on rent or mortgage, or needing food assistance.
Because of you, families can access the food and emergency financial assistance they desperately need to return to self-sufficiency. The Family Assistance Program – with locations in Fort Bend, Galveston, and Harris Counties – provides basic needs assistance to our most vulnerable neighbors, allowing them to breathe a sigh of relief and move forward.
The Guadalupe Center (Harris County), Mamie George Community Center (Fort Bend County), and Texas City and Galveston Island Beacon of Hope centers (Galveston County) all house localized Family Assistance Programs.
With your support, families will not have to go hungry, have their utilities shut off, or face eviction. Dedicated case managers help clients identify their immediate needs, then they work together to forge a path to – or back to – self-sufficiency. Specialized services for seniors are also provided, all with the goal of helping clients live independently as long as possible.
Your support of the Family Assistance Program gives families the hand up they need when they’re going through a challenging time.
