Young Leaders Welcome Event Draws Young Adults to Catholic Charities

Young Leaders of Catholic Charities at the first Welcome Event

The Young Leaders Committee welcomed dozens of new faces at the first YL Welcome Event at Catholic Charities’ main office.

HOUSTON — Dozens of young adults throughout the Greater Houston area connected in the spirit of service at the Young Leaders of Catholic Charities Welcome Event on Thursday, August 1, 2019.

Attendees mingled with like-minded young professionals and enjoyed wine and refreshments at Catholic Charities’ main office while learning about how they can make an impact in their committee through Catholic Charities.

Fr. Matthew Suniga from St. Theresa Catholic Church in Sugar Land opened the program with a prayer, followed by Catholic Charities’ President and CEO Cynthia N. Colbert, MSW addressing the group about Catholic Charities’ programs and its life-changing work. Young Leaders Committee Chair Elizabeth Lyon introduced the YL Committee, talked about the group’s mission and invited the crowd to join their group.

The Young Leaders of Catholic Charities are a group of young adults in the Greater Houston area with a passion for faith and service. Their mission is to make a difference in the lives of thousands of people and families who struggle to survive through their support of Catholic Charities.
