You Help Seniors Like Kathleen Reach Their Goals

Kathleen was losing hope. As a senior, social isolation really took its toll during the height of the pandemic. She was desperate for change in her life.

Because of you, Kathleen has received case management services at the Mamie George Community Center in Richmond and now feels positive about her present and future for the first time in a while.

“Receiving these services changed my life,” she said.

Seniors like Kathleen, who is 77 years old, come to the Mamie George Community Center not only for hot meals in Patti’s Café or food assistance at Trini’s Market, but for the socialization with others just like them. Kathleen is among the many seniors who benefit from the services that generous donors make possible.

Recently, Kathleen was blown away by the continued generosity from donors. A young man working toward his Eagle Scout rank donated refurbished laptops to Catholic Charities, and Kathleen was a proud recipient.

This laptop will allow Kathleen, who lives alone in a rural area, to connect with friends and family via email to decrease social isolation, schedule appointments, and complete benefits applications online with ease from her home.

Kathleen is still working toward some of her personal goals, and donors like you give her the help, hope, and confidence that she will achieve them. Thank you!
