With the holidays approaching, Lyndsey found herself in a scary situation. She fell behind on her bills, and she nearly had her utilities turned off. Even worse, she faced possible eviction. She was afraid of being homeless with her children, especially as Thanksgiving and Christmas were coming soon.
But because of your support, Catholic Charities’ Women Veterans Program stepped in for Lyndsey and her family. She received financial assistance to ensure they all were able to stay in their home, and a case manager assisted Lyndsey with receiving her proper VA benefits to care for her family.
Like many women veterans, Lyndsey struggled returning to civilian life after her military service. Thanks to you, she received counseling and assistance on finding a better-paying job. Catholic Charities also made sure her family had a nice Thanksgiving meal, and that her children had gifts for Christmas through the Share Your Blessings program.
“My heart has been so full of gratefulness at the show of generosity and care for my family. I know I could never express my gratitude and make known the true relief of rescue, but I will continue to try.
Catholic Charities did more than fix a temporary problem I was having they helped to ensure I could stay standing on my own.”
