Ramona felt trapped. Even though she is getting older, she still used to get out to the Mamie George Community Center to enjoy meals, work on word puzzles, and socialize with her friends.
But she can’t get around like she used to, and a damaged ramp at home made it very difficult for her to get out. She couldn’t even get to important doctor’s appointments.
Then you came to her rescue, the way generous, caring people do.
Because of your support, Ramona not only got her ramp repaired, but she also got a wheelchair so she could get around more easily. It was a dream come true!
“I’m thankful for all the help that I was given through Catholic Charities,” Ramona said.
Through your support, Ramona and her case manager worked together to find a way she could stay in her home, despite the challenges. They arrange for home care to help Ramona with day-to-day tasks – like shopping – that are getting harder. And thanks to your generosity, she continues to receive food from our food pantry, Trini’s Market.
Nowadays, Ramona is back to doing her puzzles and getting out to the Mamie George Center when she’s not playing with her great-grandchildren.
