Catholic Charities’ Senior Program staff passed the Texas State exam to become certified counselors.
Catholic Charities’ Senior Program staff recently passed the Texas Benefits Counseling Program state exam to become Certified Benefits Counselors with a 100% pass rate.
Catholic Charities has the only senior services program to have its entire staff certified, as recognized by the Harris County Area Agency on Aging.
This certification will help staff ensure that more eligible Texans acquire benefits and/or maintain their rights. Specifically, benefits counselors provide information, counseling, assistance and advocacy to seniors age 60 and older and others who are Medicare-eligible regarding their benefits, entitlements and legal rights.
