MGCC Pancake Festival Raises $54,000 for Fort Bend

Hundreds of volunteers came out to Mamie George to help flip pancakes at the 4th Annual Pancake Festival benefiting MGCC programs.

Despite the stormy weather, hundreds of supporters helped the Mamie George Community Center (MGCC) raise $54,000 at its 4th Annual Pancake Festival on Sat., June 24 to benefit Catholic Charities’ program services in Fort Bend County.

Featuring all-you-can-eat pancakes for $5, the festival attracted 360 attendees to enjoy pancakes, crafts, activities for the kids, and live entertainment all day. The mariachis were an event favorite, and children enjoyed pictures with Princess Belle, slime-making, carnival games, the kids’ pancake art station and jump house!

A special thank you to the 218 volunteers for all of their hard work throughout the day to make the event run smoothly and be fun for everyone.

MGCC, a program of Catholic Charities serving Fort Bend County, is known as a place of love and service around the county where seniors 60+ can get a healthy meal, take classes and make new friends.
