Annual Pancake Festival Draws Crowds to Mamie George

National Charity League - Azalea Chapter at Catholic Charities' Annual Mamie George Community Center Pancake Festival

Members of the National Charity League – Azalea Chapter serve pancakes at Catholic Charities’ Annual Mamie George Community Center Pancake Festival.

Dozens of volunteers packed the Mamie George Community Center on Saturday, June 8, 2019 to flip pancakes for Catholic Charities.

The Annual Pancake Festival brought in more than 300 people to feast on $5 all-you-can-eat pancakes and enjoy family-friendly activities all morning long. Proceeds from the event benefit Catholic Charities’ programs and services in Fort Bend County.

Volunteer teams cooked their unique take on the pancakes, and festival goers were invited to vote for their favorites. The National Charity League – Azalea Chapter was named the fan favorite for their delicious smores-version of a pancake with chocolate chips and marshmallow creme.

Other teams participating included the Fort Bend History Association, St. Laurence Catholic Church’s Young Adults Group, and E.E. Reed Construction.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered and supported the pancake festival.
