Because of you, Linda found the guidance and support she needed through Catholic Charities’ Women Veterans Program to turn her life around.
Like many veterans, Linda struggled transitioning to civilian life after her time in the military. She felt lost and hopeless, and wasn’t sure what to do about it. Her depression made keeping a job difficult, plunging her deeper into debt and despair.
Because of you, Linda found the guidance and support she needed through Catholic Charities’ Women Veterans Program to turn her life around. Her case manager first taught Linda to manage her finances by creating a budget, then helped her address items on her credit report. She also worked with her to create a financial plan for her future goals.
“Catholic Charities gave us a safe place to be planted so that we can continue to thrive and keep becoming our best.”
The female vet then enrolled in the program’s Career Essentials course to learn skills such as interviewing, creating a resume and how to find jobs that tap into her skills and abilities.

With your help, Linda also received needed mental health support. A counselor worked with her to address her individual needs, and the group sessions enabled her to connect with other women veterans who could relate to her struggles.
Now Linda is hopeful to find a job that gives her purpose. She said her experience with the program taught her to accept who she is and see her value.
“Thank you for all of the love, spiritual guidance, times spent educating and counseling us, and for the knowledge and wisdom that you have sown into our lives. You teach us how to fish!”
