Impacted by the Government Shutdown? Don’t Worry – Catholic Charities Is Here For You

Potential food stamp cuts, long TSA airport lines, shuttered parks plus all the crises caused by the government shutdown makes individuals and families nervous, especially federal workers who cannot draw a paycheck, but whose monthly bills continue.

Don’t worry. At Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, we are staying open. We offer services that may help and we are here for you.

Cutbacks threaten the most vulnerable Texans; those already hungry and struggling. They also threaten the middle class; government employees relying on pay checks to pay rent. And they trickle up to threaten businesses, landlords, in short everyone who relies on payments from furloughed employees.

Our food pantries remain open and our experienced managers remain ready to provide services that impact the lives of thousands of people in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.

Catholic Charities is here for you.
