Catholic Charities’ Mamie George Community Center in Richmond hosts monthly food fairs, and also weekday distributions.

Family Assistance
We provide food, rent, utilities, medication and financial assistance and support services aimed at returning individuals and families to self-sufficiency. As we help relieve the overwhelming stress that comes from the lack of basic needs, those in crisis are better able to work towards self-sufficiency.

Trini’s Corner Market
Trini’s Corner Market is a self-select food pantry, available to Fort Bend County residents in need of food assistance. We offer a wide variety of canned goods, dry goods, fresh produce, meats, breads and beverages. Our guests are able to select and shop for the items in which they are most in need. Pantry Hours are Tuesday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. We also offer evening appointments on Wednesdays. Shopping is by appointment only.

Patty’s Cafe
Patty’s Café is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.. The café is open to the general public and provides free wireless intranet access. Seating is available both indoors and outdoors under our covered patio. Hot meals are cooked daily from scratch in our own kitchen and are available for $6.50 plus tax. Senior Citizens who are at least 60 years old and live in Fort Bend enjoy free meals in the café. Sign-up for free meals is required and takes only about 15 minutes.

Senior Services
We support seniors in their efforts to stay healthy and active, volunteer, build friendships and live independently.
Other support offered include loving, listening hearts for hundreds of otherwise-isolated seniors, health and welfare monitoring, case management, nutrition education, referrals for mental health, benefits enrollment and/or restoration, social and spiritual needs, and emergency assistance. Financial assistance is available.

Senior Wellness
Senior Wellness
Our Senior Wellness program serves those seniors who are at least 55 years old. We offer numerous exercise classes including Line Dancing, Zumba, Stretch/Yoga and Silver Stretch & Tone, all taught by trained fitness instructors. Our fitness room includes a treadmill, elliptical machine and stationary bike, as well as weights and various other machines; our fitness instructor will instruct you on how to work the machines and get you started. Our Wellness Center is specifically designed for seniors with easy access to fitness equipment and we offer special exercise classes for wheelchair/walker-bound clients.
Creative Aging
Our beautiful art room offers a variety of classes including mixed media, painting, crafting and our popular “Around the Quilt” which engages discussion and a project about a different topic each month. In addition, we offer a variety of programs including Bingo, Medicare counseling, ESL classes, Bible Study, Holy Rosary, gardening and so much more! Grandparents Raising Grandchildren
The Mamie George Community Center provides Grandparents Raising Grandchildren workshops to help grandparents with the challenges of caring for their grandchildren. The workshops cover a range of topics, including computer training and information sessions about the legal and school systems, while children receive tutoring and homework help.

Gracious Gifts
The Gracious Gifts gift shop provides economical, dignified gift-giving opportunities for seniors. You can help by donating NEW items for sale, such as, greeting cards, jewelry, purses, scarves, slippers, socks, gifts for babies and children (for seniors’ grandchildren), nice toiletries, blankets/throws, seasonal items and gift bags. All proceeds support Mamie George Community Center programs.
Blessed Beginnings Parenting Classes
Catholic Charities’ Blessed Beginnings Life Center is committed to the sanctity of human life, offering support to parents from pregnancy through their child’s fifth birthday. We offer parenting classes, counseling and material assistance to help parents have healthy babies and children.
Program participants may be eligible for free baby items and material assistance.

Women Veteran Services
Catholic Charities Women Veteran Services offers hope for women who have served this country and are in crisis. We help through financial assistance for rent, mortgage, food, employment and education guidance, and through other services.
