Catholic Charities Housing Program offers services to help families on the verge of becoming homeless, or who have already experienced homelessness.
The program provides rental assistance and connections to services that contribute to housing stability, such as employment readiness, financial literacy, counseling and childcare.

Court Order Evictions/Court Dates - City of Houston
For residents of the City of Houston that have an active court order eviction or court date scheduled:
- City of Houston residents only
- Must have an active court order/court date scheduled—documentation is required
- Copy of lease agreement signed by both parties- documentation required
- Government issued ID- documentation required
If you do not have a court ordered eviction, court date scheduled, or have those documents but are out of the city of Houston, please see the housing tab connected to your area for additional resources.
Assistance is not guaranteed. Documentation is required within 24 hours of request.

Rental Assistance in Harris and Fort Bend Counties
Harris County residents in need of rental assistance must meet these eligibility requirements:
- Harris County and Fort Bend County Residents
- Must have late notice
- Must be behind on rent or mortgage payments for current month
- Supporting documents will be required

Rental/Housing Assistance for Veterans in Fort Bend County
Catholic Charities’ offers hope for veterans who have served this country and are in crisis.
- Must have late notice
- Must be behind on rent or mortgage payments for current month.
- Supporting documents will be required
Requests are reviewed in the order they are received. Funds are limited. Completing a request form does not guarantee assistance.
If you are not veteran, your request will be closed. You must provide your DD214 form for verification.
For veterans living in Fort Bend County in need of rental assistance, apply here
Rental Assistance in Galveston County
Galveston County residents in need of rental assistance must meet these eligibility requirements:
- For Galveston County residents: Currently assistance is available to those living in Texas City ISD or La Marque.
- You must have a court-ordered eviction; an eviction court date scheduled; or an eviction notice or late notice from your landlord or apartment complex.
- You must be behind in rent for this current month.
- You must have had a loss of income or out-of-pocket expense in the last 90 days.
- Supporting documents will be required.
*** Please note that clients receiving housing subsidy, such as section 8, or public housing are not eligible for this program.

For Those Experiencing Homelessness
Rapid Re-Housing
In collaboration with the Houston Housing Authority and the Coalition for the Homeless, Rapid Re-Housing (RRH) works to end homelessness for low-to-moderate income individuals and households residing in the City of Houston.
The goal of this program is to increase self-sufficiency and housing stability by helping clients to gain and maintain viable housing. The RRH Program provides the following services: Case Navigator, Financial Assistance (Housing, Utility, Food and Transportation) and community resources.

Permanent Supportive Housing
The Permanent Supportive Housing Program (PSH) is a HUD-funded grant that serves individuals and families who are chronically homeless. The PSH Program provides the following services: Case Navigator, Financial Assistance (Housing, Utility, Food and Transportation) and community resources. Clients must apply with Coordinated Access through The Way Home for PSH assistance. A client must be able to provide chronic homelessness and a disability supportive documentation; to be referred by Coordinated Access. Rental Assistance for Those Living with HIV
Housing Opportunities for persons with AIDS (HOPWA)
- HIV status letter
- Unexpected reduction of the income
- You must have a court-ordered eviction; an eviction court date scheduled; or an eviction notice, foreclosure notice or late notice from your landlord, apartment complex or mortgage company
- Prolonged hospitalization as applicable
- Deterioration of the overall health as applicable
- Residing in one of the following service areas: Austin, Brazoria, Ft. Bend, Galveston, Grimes, Harris, Montgomery, San Jacinto, Walker, and Waller counties
- Supporting documents will be required.
