At the Beacon of Hope Centers on Galveston Island and on the mainland in Texas City, Catholic Charities offers a variety of programs to address the needs in Galveston County.
Family Assistance
We provide food, rent, utilities, medication and financial assistance and support services aimed at returning individuals and families to self-sufficiency. As we help relieve the overwhelming stress that comes from the lack of basic needs, those in crisis are better able to work towards self-sufficiency.
On Galveston Island, services are available at the Beacon of Hope Center. For more information, call 409-762-2064 or e-mail Linda Mannen at lmannen@catholiccharities.org.
For information on the services provided on the mainland at the Texas City Basic Needs Office, call 409-948-0405 or e-mail Melissa Barilla (Case Manager) at mbarilla@catholiccharities.org.
