Help Provide Diapers to Families in Need

Come watch the “Month of Mary Drive for Diapers” radio show kick off at Catholic Charities. Guadalupe Radio Network will broadcast the Catholic Lunch Break from our building LIVE at 12PM Monday, May 2nd.

(Space is limited, so bring a donation of diapers (any size) to be part of the live studio audience)

Many families in the Greater Houston area struggle to survive every day, especially those with small children. Even affording essentials such as diapers can be difficult.

But you can help!

Catholic Charities is grateful to KSHJ AM 1430, the Guadalupe Radio Network’s Houston station for hosting the Month of Mary Drive for Diapers for Catholic Charities throughout the month of May! Make a gift, shop our Amazon Charity List, or drop off diapers to our main office location to support parents with small children throughout the Archdiocese.

May marks the Month of Mary. Will you honor her by helping other mothers desperately in need of diapers and baby supplies? Your gift will help ensure that parents in need will receive sufficient supplies to keep their infant or child clean, dry, and healthy.

Why is Catholic Charities doing a Diaper Drive?

Raising children is expensive, and it’s especially hard for low-income families with small children. Diapers can sometimes cost as much as $100 per month. Nearly a quarter of children under age 3 in Texas come from families living below the Federal Poverty Line*. While many federal and public assistance programs can be used for diapers, after paying for rent, utilities, groceries, clothing, transportation and other basic necessities, little if any money is left for purchasing diapers. Catholic Charities seeks to bridge this gap, and with your help, we can ensure no family has to choose between paying for food or buying diapers. *Source: National Diaper Network

Who receives the diapers?

Diapers are distributed through Catholic Charities’ Blessed Beginnings Life Center for any family with small children in need. If you need assistance, please contact us at 713.874.6760 or send us a mssage.

What are the most needed items?

At this time, the most needed items are some of the larger sized diapers (3, 4, 5, 6 and 2T pull-ups). You can view some of the suggested items through our Amazon Charity List, or simply make a gift online to enable us to purchase the sizes requested by the families we serve.

Can I drop off diapers?

Yes! We are accepting small donations of diapers and wipes at our main office located at 2900 Louisiana Street, Houston, 77006 (MAP). Drop offs can occur Monday through Friday during normal business hours (8:00 a.m. — 4:00 p.m.).
