“The generous will be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.” Proverbs 22:9
This year, the month of November means even more worry for many families and individuals about having enough to eat, thanks to two factors: the federal government shutdown and a pause in SNAP (formerly called food stamp) benefits.
Working families who depend on a federal government job may find themselves needing food assistance for the first time after paychecks stop flowing; while low-income families who depend on SNAP benefits to keep food on the table will struggle more than ever.
Catholic Charities is ready to respond through our network of three food pantries. And, we need your support to keep our shelves stocked and to distribute food to families in need.
YOU CAN HELP! Donate food, volunteer, or make a financial gift.
HOLD A FOOD DRIVE
Organize a food drive at your parish, office, community organization or neighborhood. Or make your own donation of unexpired canned goods and other shelf-stable food items.
You can order food for delivery directly to the Catholic Charities warehouse using this Amazon Wish List.
