Another campaign is designed to help families who need help keeping their utilities turned on. Why is utility assistance important to you?

I understand that utility bills can be a significant portion of a low-income family’s monthly expenses, and falling behind on these bills can lead to disconnection of services, additional fees, and in some cases, eviction.

Because I realize that if families don’t have electricity, they can’t keep fresh food in the house, and children can’t use computers or lights to do their homework.

Because I understand the dangers of not having utilities when temperatures are extremely high or low.

The last campaign we will have this year is about alleviating hunger. Can you please tell us how you feel about hunger?

I have personally suffered from hunger at one point in my life, and I understand the pain and distress that it causes.

I have not suffered from hunger myself, but I believe that no one should go hungry.

I believe no parent should have to choose between feeding their family and keeping their family in their home.
