Sarah came to our Blessed Beginnings program pregnant with her second child and raising a three-year-old daughter alone. Her husband had recently left, and she was facing a future filled with uncertainty. She questioned whether she could continue her pregnancy, and whether she could keep being the mother her daughter needed.
That’s when Catholic Charities stepped in.
Our licensed counselor helped Sarah process her emotions and strengthen her coping skills. A case manager worked with her to set short- and long-term goals, and together they built a plan. We helped her reconnect with her support system—her husband, friends, family, and faith. As a result, Sarah chose life, for her baby and for herself, her husband and her toddler.
