At the Beacon of Hope Centers on Galveston Island and on the mainland in Texas City, Catholic Charities offers a variety of programs to address the needs in Galveston County.
Need rent help in Texas City?
The Texas City Emergency Rental Assistance Program is available for renters who live within the City of Texas City limits. Tenants must have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, experiencing housing instability, and have a household income at or below 80% of the Area Median Income.

We provide food, rent, utilities, medication and financial assistance and support services aimed at returning individuals and families to self-sufficiency. As we help relieve the overwhelming stress that comes from the lack of basic needs, those in crisis are better able to work towards self-sufficiency.

Catholic Charities’ Beacon of Hope Center “Super Site” food distribution in Galveston will continue through December 2021. The large-scale drive-through food distribution, supplied by the Galveston County Food Bank, is scheduled for the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month through December, starting at 9:00 a.m.
Catholic Charities Women Veteran Services offers hope for women who have served this country and are in crisis. We help through financial assistance for rent, mortgage, food, employment and education guidance, and through other services.
