World Refugee Day
Catholic Charities staff members celebrate World Refugee Day.

“This not about sharing a burden. It is about sharing a global responsibility, based not only the broad idea of our common humanity but also on the very specific obligations of international law. The root problems are war and hatred, not people who flee; refugees are among the first victims of terrorism.” — UN Secretary-General, António Guterres

Celebrate refugees!

On World Refugee Day, held every year on June 20, we commemorate the strength, courage and perseverance of millions of refugees. This year, World Refugee Day also marks a key moment for the public to show support for families forced to flee.

Brown Auditorium at the Houston Museum of Fine Arts at 1001 Bissonnet Street Houston 77005

Join us on June 20 at Brown Auditorium at the Houston Museum of Fine Arts for a special panel of speakers to talk about the global refugee crisis and how Houstonians like you can help.

Help us answer Christ’s call to welcome the stranger. Pope Francis is calling us to #ShareJourney with our neighbors – all our neighbors, not only those who live near us, look like us, speak like us or pray like us.

Event is free and open to the public.
